Types of Writers: Characters

Let's be real here. There are MANYYY types of writers out there, and I'm sure you all already know that. What separates us as writers can go from writing style to figurative language, to originality in our ideas and plots, the list goes on.

Being 15 years old, I only know so much. But through my reading experience as well as my experiences meeting other writers and seeing their work, I'm quite confident in myself for knowing at least a few different types of writers.
In this one, I'll be discussing, oh that's right YOU GUESSED IT!
The different types of ways writers treat their characters!
This list I believe won't be too long so I'm afraid the popcorn isn't needed for this one (or will you. . . ;)
The Benevolent Writer

Now, this type of writer is mainly common among beginner writers or writers who are at least entering the world of character building/character's affecting the plot, etc. Of course, this type of writer could be found within aspiring writers that are strong and experienced.
These type of writers are usually the ones who spoil their characters . . . a lot. And when I say this I mean you find them keeping their characters away from danger at ALL COSTS, or as little as possible. Why? Well from what I've experienced, it's usually because they LOVVEEE their dear creations so much that they couldn't see themselves even writing about them getting a small paper-cut!
No, No, No, making their character feel even pain is out of the question, whether it's a side character or the protagonist, or even the ANTAGONIST (especially if they have a deep back-story that always sends the writer to tears) And if they WERE to be in the presence of danger, somehow the writer would usually find a way to get them out of it, even if it means a choppy escape.
At times it can be quite easy to tell if writers fall into this category and for others, usually for the experienced ones, it can be done so slyly and smoothly that it can take a while to discover, or not even discovered at all. (Though, I'm pretty sure most professionals aren't like this or are they. . ? Hmmm)
I can't say that I'm against these writers because sometimes even I can have characters that I just DO NOT want to make suffer, no matter the circumstances. But because of the sake of my plot, I have too. I mean don't deny it, readers crave excitement especially if it involves suffering (unless it's our favorite character that's suffering then no, absolutely not)
The Tolerable Writer

This kind of writer I feel like is the ideal, or at least is the most common one I've run into, whether it's professional or an experienced aspiring writer.
These types of writers, sure they love their characters or can have favorites but in all, they don't mind having their characters suffer for a little bit, or at a reasonable time. As long as it's necessary for the story/plot, then writing about their character suffering is something they can bring themselves to do.
Unlike the Benevolent Writer, when they HAVE to do it, they aren't as crushed about it (well I can't speak for everyone but hey it's a guess). Unless they have to write a death scene. Then yes, they could feel some guilt or pity. (I find myself being this type of writer btw ;)
Of course, these writers have feelings but let's just say they aren't as. . . emotional as the Benevolent Writer. If they were, they wouldn't have one scene where the main character gets hurt. I mean realistically, Tolerable Writers can turn into a Benevolent Writer when having to write about a character/protagonist they love facing an awful fate. I mean EVERY writer ends up creating a character they love, but usually, the emotions only go so far.
The Sadist

Hmmmmmm I wonder what this kind of writer is like? I wonder who they are? OH RIGHTTT they're every single author I know who has killed every one of my favorite characters or worse!!!! Ha! I love these kinds writers! They're my favorite!
. . . I hope all of you know I'm joking. If so, good.
These kinds of writers. . . well, it's quite obvious. They do NOT care who it is, even if it's a character they like, these writers will either happily or for NO good reason slaughter off their characters (I mean sometimes there are good reasons but it still)
Even if they don't usually kill their characters, these writers may have a tendency to have their character suffer THE WORST fate in the HISTORY of worst fates. Heck, they could probably make their face blow off or have them be disintegrated in a giant OCEAN of hot molten lava. The list goes on!
The professionals can be more reasonable with this (still don't care) and usually the beginners are the ones who are very VERY trigger-happy if they're in this category.
Now, of course, these writers can be emotional about this, but sometimes you can't help but question if they really TRULY ARE, who knows they could be 'having a tea party with the devil' at this moment. Unless it's a messed up antagonist. they're killing off, sure go ahead. Unless they make us like the antagonist in the end. UGH, I hate it when that happens. -.-
Like I said not much (ha, sort of.) But those were only a few out of a couple more that I know of. But if you'd like to put in your own thoughts, go ahead and comment. XD
So tell me, out of the three writers, which one are you? Are you one of them? A mix of both? Or are you a mix of all. . ? ;D
