Yes that's right, I am blessing you my dear readers, with another one of my writing snippets. YAY! And to make things better it's the snippet from my first trilogy! Double YAY! Now if you're wondering, yes I have made a snippet for my book Fallen which is the one I hope to publish before I'm 16 and if you haven't seen it yet here's the link to both! The first one I recommend reading first because it taps into the history of my first book. But if you're a daredevil and not an organized dweeb like me, then go ahead and read the second one first, no one's stopping you but remember this warning: That it's not recommended. ;D

Anyways enough of that, time to give "Sinking Deep" it's own intro now. (Yes ANOTHER one).

Intro (Again)

Sinking Deep is a Novel that is part of my first trilogy "The Dreaming Chronicles." I've only started writing this book the summer of 2017 so there'll be a lot of changes if I were to continue posting snippets of it.

Now believe it or not, the 2nd book to this trilogy I've planned way more than first hence me wanting to write it more than this one (plus the main character I created in the 2nd book is someone I am literally dying to write because I love them so much) but because I am an organized DWEEB like I've already established, I sucked it up and started writing "Sinking Deep" first.

It was a struggle in the beginning, I must admit that, but the more I wrote it the more I got into it like I had with "Fallen" so hopefully in the end it becomes one of my best masterpieces that I've written.

I hope to finish this before the end of summer and I ALSO hope that this snippet will be entertaining for you all and give bits and pieces of inspiration. ^_^

So enjoy and don't forget to comment below!

Prologue

It was like she could touch it. . .the images she pictured in her mind.

They were that vivid to her.

A purple river flowed before her eyes, bright shimmers gleaming from the surface.

The minute she saw it, she began to move her tongue, quick to fantasize the taste of the water she already knew was bitter; a contradiction to it’s appearance.

She raised her hand, and traced her index finger in the air, imagining it cutting through the milky water that drifted with ease down the riverbank.

She let her hand fall back onto the dreamcatcher she held in her arms. Then her head switched to picturing the trees.

Their brown bark was scored with lines made of glass and water, both in which released a glow, she knew she couldn’t have missed a mile away.

The peculiar trees scattered the forest that the purple river ran through, some taller than others.

She could see herself stepping on-top of the grass that covered the ground, and the grass. . . it was just as strange as the trees

The strands of grass, were not plants. Instead they were made of glass.

She turned from imagining taste, to visualizing her feet taking another step onto the strands of glass that for some reason could not pierce her skin.

It was like she was there.

Every bit of the detail she imagined, matching her Mom’s description.

The descriptions in the stories that she’d tell her before bed.

She was glad it did.

It was the only thing she had left of her mom.

‘Kingdom of Water and Glass’ She thought.

Her lips curved into a smile when the the words passed through her head in her Mom’s voice, instead of hers.

It wasn’t long until her mind began to sculpt her, piecing together the memories when her mom would kiss her forehead, when she’d smile down at her; the warmth she spread whenever she embraced her.

Instead of tears brimming her eyes from the sudden rise of nostalgia, she smiled.

She loved me and that’s all that matters. She thought.

Just thinking such words sent her fingers tracing the designs of the woven dreamcatcher. The texture of the designs was enough for mom’s voice to return.

‘Dreams are too mysterious to have every question about them answered, you never know what they can do to you and you never know how you can use them.’

Once the words passed her mind, after waiting for so long for sleep to take her, it finally does.

Her daydreams and her thoughts fade off; the sound of her mom’s words follow. . .

It was right then and there that she regretted thinking her mom’s words. When she suddenly regretted closing her eyes in the first place.

The slumber she had fallen into just moments ago-it felt deep. Too deep. . . and she had only just drifted off.

The dreamcatcher she clutched in her hands suddenly grew foreign to her when her sleep instantly plunged into something deeper.

Her daydreams were vivid yes, but this, the dreams that were too quick to form. . . they were too vivid.

It was like she was really experiencing everything that her mind was crafting.

She never had this feeling before

Her mind felt at peace but inside it felt chaotic.

Soon enough her sleep-her dream went from too deep to, too dark.

It felt like seconds had passed.

Her dreamy thoughts a blur. . .

It was all she felt and she couldn't wake up.

Until she heard a scream.
